My magazines: Here, there and everywhere!

Add ImageI keep some of them in here . . .

There are more in here . . .

A short stack over here . . .

And a few over here . . .

Of course I'm referring to my collection of magazines and I have a hunch that you have stashes of them, too. When I see a good cover, I peek inside and if there is at least one photo that makes me GASP! – I'm in.

I just picked this one up last time I was food shopping. BHG magazines are 10% off at Home Depot but I couldn't wait. It's a Best Of and being such a magazine maniac, I have many of the issues originally featuring the design idea "re-runs." Like this page (below) which completely inspired the color palette of my living room:

Lots of cool ideas I hadn't seen before, too, like this . . .

and this . . .

And here is a little hint of someplace you'll find me next month . . .

I'm too excited to say anything more just yet!

Ohhh that was fun to see where your magazines are stashed! I have a ton of them too and always say I am going to go through and sort them but never do. I can't wait to see your surprise, I wonder if it has something to do with a magazine??

Love, love, love magazines. I try to keep them near a chair just in case I need an idea fix and inspiration for a redo! Our Joann's Fabrics was having a fixture sale so I bought 2 upright magazine stands for $10 each. I have them on an older blog post. My daughter uses one of them for her piano/music booklets. Sounds like you are featured in an upcoming magazine. If I'm right, congratulations!

Magazines are great for finding ideas and being inspired, although it does get hard after a while to find new homes for them all!
Your home is so pretty.

I love magazines! I have too many of them in my little cottage. Where to put them is the eternal question! I have that same Flea Market edition and it is full of eye candy. By the way, I haven't heard of the shop you mentioned ~ it is south of my house ~ but when I get back here for good, I'll definitely pop over there.

I love magazines too...stacks and stacks of them. Especially Somerset Studios special editions. I browse through them all the time for inspiration. I can't wait to see what you are up to!

What magazines are you drawn to? I love decorating mags, but my latest, really bad habit is the Somerset Studios magazines. I love so many of them and they are so yummy and have a price to match. Of course I keep them. I also religiously keep my Mary Engelbreits, most of the other I try to toss, but I do keep a few of the Cottage-y mags when they really appeal.

Hey Elyse!

My oldest is not on spring break until next week, and he's traveling away with his Dad the entire week - so I'm starting to freak out!
Thanks for your nice comments on my shop. I feel the same way about your things. The only suggestion I have is to take notes as to what you consign, at what price. That way - you will have a record of it - and you will know what is a good seller and what is not. I'm sure you will do well. Please keep me informed! :)

LaurieStar said...

PS - and yes - I have a hoard of mags too! Of course! :)

Sunny and cool here today.

I love magazines too. They can generate so much inspiration...but it's easy to find yourself in the midst of magazine clutter. Thanks for your tips Elyse!

I have been a magazine collecter since I was a teenage in the 70's. It started with Seventeen magazine.

Now I have stacks and staches of, garden, home and craft magazines all over the house. Many are secretly hidden inside something else such as the ottoman purchased for lift the feet and hiding my mags!

This is one of those "I'm not alone" moments after seeing everyone's else's confessions of magazine collecting!

I have the same magazine problem. I bet you aren't surprised. I love seeing pics of peoples decorating books so I can check out the titles and see what I'm missing. I will check out that magazine for sure.

Hi, again, big Sis!!

I have stashes of magazines everywhere, although I must admit that mine are not nearly as neatly tucked away in drawers as yours are. Most of mine are hiding underneath the coffee table. Bad, bad, I know!

Hope you have a fabulous weekend! Any great plans??

Hi Elyse~I have saved magazines for probably at least 15 yrs now, or more~lol! Mr. Fufu definitely can't understand why I need these around taking up way too much room. Congrats on your upcoming magazine feature! ~xo~ Janet
